At Quinta dos Muros, in the East slopes of the Pinhão valley, Touriga Nacional with southern solar exposure finds the ideal conditions to develop structure and complexity besides the ripe black fruit, and Tinta Roriz, with a western exposition develops the acidity and aromatic freshness to this Vintage Port. Vinification takes place in both lagar and closed vats. The wine is dark purple with an attractive aroma of violets, plum and raspberry. It's a velvety wine, well balanced with serious and powerful tannins and fine acidity.

A serious Port, fresh and well balanced very typical from the Pinhão river valley.

Our 2013 Vintage is the first produced exclusively with grapes from our oldest estate, Quinta dos Muros, in the East slopes of the Pinhão valley, where Touriga Nacional with southern solar exposure finds the ideal conditions to develop structure and complexity besides the ripe black fruit, and where Tinta Roriz, with a western exposition develops the acidity and aromatic freshness to this Vintage Port. Vinification takes place in both lagar and closed vats. The wine is dark purple with an attractive aroma of violets, plum and raspberry. It's a velvety wine, well balanced with serious and powerful tannins and fine acidity.

A serious Port, fresh and well balanced that could only be from the Pinhão valley!

Quinta do Portal 2009 is very dark purple in colour and has an incredible intense aroma, reminding the lagares and vinification atmosphere.
With plum, fig and jam in the nose it's start smooth but it's powerful and rich. Some chocolate in the aftertaste is an invitation for another glass. Cheers!

In 2008 we had quite a small harvest (40% lower than the average). Fortunately the quality of the grapes, that matured slowly and with very good balance, was very good.
This wine has a very dark purple colour. Aromas of plum and black fig in a very clean fruit profile. It's smooth and silky with some chocolate flavour obtained in the old parcels. Overall very well balanced and with a long ageing potencial.

The 2006 has a dense and lively colour, it has good concentration of mature red fruits. The acidity is very good and the tannins are smooth but very present.

Again, it's a wine that can be enjoyed quite young, but it will benefit from at least 10 years of bottle ageing.

This is second release of a single quinta and it's a year that we will remember for a long time. The winter was very cold and dry. In the spring the rainfall was very low, and from May 16th to September 6th we had no rain and registered 3 heat waves (June, July and August). Fortunately we had 3 days of rain before the harvest what led to a very balanced maturation. It was the best year in decades in terms of the health/sanitary level of the vineyards.
The wine is powerful but very enjoyable from young, with lots of concentrated fruit.

Quinta do Portal Vintage 2004 is our first release of a single quinta vintage port and it will be a wine to remember for many years.
The best grapes were selected and this wine reveals all their potencial.
It was aged in cask for 2 years and then bottled to continue it's ageing process.
The wine can be enjoyed now or aged further in order to get more complexity and smoothness.
