This is one of the 5 key grape varieties of the Douro, also known as Touriga Francesa (although it’s a 100% Portuguese variety). Our Touriga Franca 2009 was aged in French and American barrels for 12 months. It has a deep dark colour with an aroma of berries with some notes of cedar, coffee and cinnamon. In the mouth we find the same fruit and ripe tannins. The final is very complex with some nuances of toasted wood that are well behind the fruit.

WINE ENTHUSIAST CELLAR SELECTION
An impressive single varietal wine, this shows notes of spice, black currant and wood, along with dark tannins and a firm, dry core. With ist acidity and tannins, this will likely age for several years. R.V.
